a little while ago, i mentioned that i wanted to swap my 35 for a 8.25 and do 4.10 gears....a few people mentioned that when i do swap gears, i would have to swap of the carrier in the front because the gears would be too big for it...my new question is where would i find a carrier that would work for me....at a jy(if so what year make and model) or is it something i can order online....thanks

 

jy wpould be cheaper but online works also

 

you could find a carrier at the JY from a cherokee or wrangler that has a d30 with 3.73 or numerically higher gears.

 

They are only about 50 bucks new online so unless you like digging through junkyards and looking for something not all that common just get a new one. Plus you know it's good.

Search for "Reider Racing" or "Randy's Ring and Pinion". You could also go to Summit Racing I believe. Here's an empty case at Randy's. You will need to swap your side and spider gears into the new case.
