no the seal between the tcase and tranny are fine. thats not leaking. what is leaking is where the 2 case halves meet together, and where the yoke housing meets the tcase. a frined of mine told me that permatex makes RTV specially for gear oil..i bought ultra black RTV but knowing that this gear one is made specifically for rear diffs and gear oil, then i will be returning ultra black to get this one. my front diff is leaking also so ima have to change my 2 diffs and tcase fluid this weekend..hope it all goes good and seals up!

I believe the weight is 80-90 on the gear oil.

80-90 85-90, really not too big a difference. That's the weight you wanna use (unless you tow anything, in which case you want 75-140 or 85-140).

I use Mobil 1 in the rear and Lucas in the front

I just use the Permatex black stuff. Works well on the diffs. Haven't done it on the tcase.

I usually give the rtv gasket a day to cure before filling te case back up with fluid. So if you're not allowing any cure time, that maybe the issue.
