Default 3rd attempt at a good tcase gasket

iv already took my transfercase out and 2 times and both times iv failed to get a good seal of rtv gasket. so now will be the 3rd time. each time it ends up leaking. iv used blue, red. and this weekend will try ultra black. so what do you guys use to get a good seal?

Are both of the surfaces clean, flat and free of any gouges? Did you go around the bolt holes with the RTV? I used the black on mine last time. I've only sealed 2 different units though, but neither have leaked.

I always use versachem Mega Grey Silicone, seals great. I use it on engine blocks, crankcase, transmissions with no issue

Have you replaced the input and out put shaft seals on tranny and transfercaes shafts theres no fluid in between them.

There no gasket or sealent used between them its a dry contact area just like where tranny bolts to engine .

If either seal starts leaking it drips from there so you see you have a leak.

What parts are you mating? Most TC's has no gasket and no fluid , it just bolts in. Seals keep fluid inside the TC.
The tailcone is a different story.

UltraBlack or Right Stuff is best. All I've ever seen around the Red or Blue is oil leaks.
