3rd attempt at a good tcase gasket
iv already took my transfercase out and 2 times and both times iv failed to get a good seal of rtv gasket. so now will be the 3rd time. each time it ends up leaking. iv used blue, red. and this weekend will try ultra black. so what do you guys use to get a good seal?

last time i tried (red rtv) i glooped it on and let it sit for an hour. then mated the cases and there was a big ole gloop of rtv all around. so i was sure it wasnt gonna leak..ended up leaking. i want to get it done for the 3rd and final time

Are both of the surfaces clean, flat and free of any gouges? Did you go around the bolt holes with the RTV? I used the black on mine last time. I've only sealed 2 different units though, but neither have leaked.

Have you replaced the input and out put shaft seals on tranny and transfercaes shafts theres no fluid in between them.

UltraBlack or Right Stuff is best. All I've ever seen around the Red or Blue is oil leaks.
