Will that certainly isn't a 350 SBC.

What's your point and how does it relate to the OP?

I did it too. What year and motor combo is the original XJ? Is the original motor shot? I did it to a 85 that had the 2.8 POS and I love it. It was alot of work and something that you should undertake only if you have some experience and alot of patience and determination. The final product is an awesome vehicle. I have since bought a 91 Limited with the 4.0HO and love it. I think I would have rebuilt the 4.0 and stroked it or something in this vehicle. It would result in an awesome vehicle too with less problems of adapting everything to fit. Just some things to consider.

By the way, if you decide to do it, do alot of research first. Novak's site has a wealth of info, read it thouroughly. Advance adapters has some useful parts. Do your research and it will be easier.

The Chevy 350 is cheap, plentiful and probably has the largest aftermarket support of any engine in existence.

Go for it.
