I ran stock 3.55's with 34's for 2 years and auto trans with no issues. Was it great? No, but I knew I wasn't keeping those axles so I dealt with it. It's worst times were mainly hills and highway with any sort of wind in front of you, it would shift constantly. I wheeled it most weekends, and daily drove those 2 years (90% or my driving is city). Fuel mileage wasn't great either, but that's not just the gears fault.

5 speed stock 3.07s on 33x12.50. Its not horrible on the road, 5th gear is pretty much useless unless I'm on the highway. I find myself using 4 low quite a bit off road. I'd rather deal with the stock gearing then drop the cash for gears right now. It's definitely do-able

I went from a 32x11.50 MTR to 33x10.5 KM'2s, and it actually feels as if I went down to 31" tires again. Combined the 10.5" KM2's were 30 lbs lighter.. I guess the rotating mass makes a big difference too

Running 33x10.5 with my stock auto 3.55's. I am definitely getting a larger trans cooler asap. Gearing is not too bad though, I am going to 3.73's when I get my 8.8 ready for the swap. I will be running 32.11.5's when I get my 4.5" lift done as well.

I run 35's on stock 3.55 auto. It's not the greatest but it's driveable. It's still not too slow but the slightest hill and it's down shifting.

4.88s and master install kits are on the way.

Rotating mass makes a bigger difference than diameter.

Our XJ is fine on and off road, our Ruby with 4.10s is a pig on road(both are setup almost identically-excepting gears)!

I am running 33s by 12.5 super swamper, I have a 3.73 gear because of tow pack, I have no issue. I have enough power, if I was going to go any bigger I would rear gear and as far as trans goes just make sure you have good fluid I have driven mine all over and trans is fine, even on the highway
