33's with stock gears?
I'm currently running 33's, with Stock 3.55's .. It's fine, when i drive to work (not my DD) 40+ miles one way, I put the cruise control on 80. it's okay, if I hit any incline the tranny can't find a happy gear to stay in. I'm changing to 4.56's and also looking for a set of 35's....
I have a 91 as my daily driver with 33s on my stock 3.55 gears with a 5 speed I was worried I would want/have to regear but after 2 months it is great. I am sure it would be better with after a regear but I don't need it. You will be happy with 33s don't get scared and drop down to 31s I almost did and I am so happy I went for the bigger tires. I can cruise at 70 or 80 on the high and even accelerate in 5th gear. I run around town with no problem and have yet to have any problems offload.
im running 4.56's with 33 and love it...33's with stock gears in a auto will eventually make ur tans slip...been there do that.

i ran 33s on 3.07 gears for about a year, if u have a manual tranny it is alot easyer on stock gears, right now i have 33s and 4.56s in my diffs with a manual tranny, im a little over geared but i like it alot, i can put it in 4low and crawl up just abut anything

I'm another with stock 3.55 gears on 33s. Seems fine to me for moderate crawling, but my ignorance could be accepting something as fine that could be much better.

On my DD, I ran my stock 3.07 AX15 4.0L on 33 BFG MT's for a little over a year... Fifth gear could only maintain my highway speed... I had to go to forth to accelerate. As far as torque and 0-60 or whatever acceleration... 3.07 with the ax15 and 33's did just fine. I swapped to 3.55 axles from an AX4 XJ and im back to "factory" equivalent gearing. I'm now running Nitto Mud grapplers, RPMS are a bit higher on the highway, acceleration in fifth gear is easy over 70+MPH and MPG change was not significant.
Ive seen situations were an XJ was over geared and it caused the 4.0 to consistanly run hot when used as a daily driver. Look up for a gearing vs. tire size chart. I dont ahve the link for one handy but ive found them pretty easily in the past.

I sympathize with your transmission. a) I was being a little sarcastic and b) of course it only takes you 10 seconds your tach is way way off
it's not a big deal. I get it people dont want to or can't afford gears. but to say it's "not that bad" isn't accurate
