Default 33's with stock gears?

I have a 95 xj with a 4.5" lift and stock gears. I want to run 33's but im not sure if I need to upgrade my gears or not.

It would be best to upgrade to 4.56 or 4.88 but a lot of people run them on stock gears. If you don't upgrade gears I'd recommend a tranny cooler to help keep the trans happy

Put gears in it! Im running 33s with stock 3.55 gears. And I hate it! I will be putting in gears as soon as I get the money. And 32s are no better to me.

If your worried about cost I got a set of 4.11s out of a 4 cyl Cherokee and it was only $200 for ring, pinion and hs carriers.

It depends on the weight of the tire as to how your Jeep will react... I'd do 4:56's

4.56 or 4.88, I'd probably go 4.88, most 35s are probably 34.5 and everyone runs 4.88s with them.

it really depends on how you use your XJ. If you are going to wheel hard, I would upgrade, but I DD mine with occasional wheeling on the weekend.

If you feel that you need more power "DOWN SHIFT" seems a lot cheaper than changing gears.
