Whats you alls opinions on 3" coil spacers for the front and 2" shackles for the rear of a stock 89' XJ? Should I jus get 2" spacers or will 3 be okay? Ohh and with stock tires? Help?!

From what Ive read many times most say a 2" spacer is the max. Sure stock tires will work, but if you have healthy coil springs and leafs im sure you could fit 31's.

Also, in addition to people saying 2" coil spacers as the max, the XJ already sits nose-high...I don't think I'd want it even more so...And the higher you go in the front or rear, the more things you need to modify. I'm sitting at 3" front and rear. For the front, I have extended brake lines (Just in case, for flexing), and at 3" you need either an aftermarket track bar, or you need to relocate yours (maybe nice to do even at less height, but at 3" it's a must). At 3" you can run stock lower control arms like I am, but it's a better ride with longer ones. Also, the higher you go, the more likely it is that death wobble will show. Basically, the higher you go, the more things get thrown outta whack, and thrown farther haha. The way to combat this is with more mods, so if you're looking to keep the Jeep steering and riding as smoothly as possible, with as few extra supporting mods as possible, the lower the jeep, better/cheaper it will be.

Okay thanks, I'll jus stick to 2". Also would nylon or polyurethane spacers be better and what all would I need to accommodate the 2" lift?
