Default What tires to run on 15x8 rim

So my tires have seen better days and its time to order new ones. I actually woke up to a flat rear passenger tire and my spare is also on its last legs. While I am at it I also want to order a set of rims for it. 15x8 5x4.5 W/ 3.75 BS.

Now my question is what tire can I run with these rims on a stock height XJ?

I am asking because I am aware that on the stock rim I can run 235/75/15 no problem. Only difference is the backspacing on the stock XJ rims and the aftermarket ones would push the tire closer to the fenders (outside). Any input is greatly appreciated.

BTW here are the rims I am looking at, pretty good deal I think:

I ran 235/75/15 on mine stock with pretty much the same rims. I don't think I could fit any bigger since I actually wheeled it and would have rubbed like crazy. Ended up buying aluminum rims because I warped all 4 of my steel rims.

That was mine with a 2 inch shackle in the rear.

^^Damn sounds like you actually use the XJ like it was meant to

I ended up ordering 235/75/15 tires that I will be getting installed later today. I am going to hold off on the rims for now since I need tires pretty badly.... Keep you all posted.

This is my daily with mostly highway miles with weekend trips to the desert so I think this tire should do nicely.

Went with Hercules Terra Trac AT II with a 235/75/15 size, hopefully they fit nicely and I am sure they will look badass!
