So I'm lifting my stock 1995 Cherokee XJ and boy has it been a *****. One problem being the track bar.

I did the front end first, when I started the install I disconnected the track bar before I lifted the car as the instruction stated.

Now the truck has the 3" coils and shocks installed in the front and I even through on my tires to see how much trimming I'll have to be doing.

Anyways though, the track bar is ever so slightly off. When I called the local truck shop, they made it seem like I was crazy. Telling me I shouldn't need a track bar or anything on a 3"

I have heard this before so this leads me to believe there's a way to attach my stock one back, is there a way to do this by jacking up the front end or something? I wanna get the track bar connected if possible without buying aftermarket.

Ok this is simple. Common mistake. Have a buddy hop it the jeep and turn the key on. Turn the wheel left or right until the hole lines up. Turning the wheel will pull the axle left or right and the hole will line right up. Do this procedure when the vehicle is on the ground with weight on it. Good luck

 

The axle will probably be offset to one side if you get that stock track bar bolted up. I'd just go ahead and buy an adjustable track bar if it were me.

 

At 3" it shouldn't be that crooked. Put a ratchet strap on the axel and to the body to pull it over and line it up.

 

Turning the steering is the easy way for sure but if you bolt that bar in the stock hole your axle is going to sit 3/4" or so out the drivers side. You could just mark where it sits now and drill a new hole in the bracket. Make sure you mark and drill leaving enough material to securely rebolt it on the new hole. It is not the best way to do it but plenty if people have used this method successfully including myself.
