Yep just a bit stronger and thicker. I have the 27 spline 8.25 with 31's and do lots of beach/trail driving and have never had a problem with it...Tj

so the more splines the stronger. I'm planing 33's and want to not have to ever think bout the rear end having issues so i think the 29 spline should be solid?

you'll have no problems with a 29 spline on 33's

Can correct me if I am wrong, but aren't the axle seals different?

if they are would i just steal them from the downer or just buy new ones. Your talking the outside near the tire seals, Right?

if you do have to replace the axle seals, just get new ones. i think they're like $3 a piece.
