Well gentlemen we won't know just what it takes until one of us does it. So the race is on, OP good luck on your turbo build. Somebody better dig up Mr. Navarro and tell him get back to making magical AMC motors.

I did something similar to my Bugs engine. Bigger valves and .1L more displacement. Dropped 2 psi from the last engine (using the same size pulley) but makes 25 hp more. Efficiency. Poor little blower is spinning at 20K rpms though. Not efficient haha

Count me out of the race haha. I will be watching from the sideline. I am going the stroker route with my Jeep.

Edit - there is a guy over in the Jeep build section who claims he is running 20 psi. Will be following that.

When we added 1.7:1 roller rockers, boost went down 0.5-1 psi. Ported big valve head boost went down 2 psi. When added 70mm throttle body added 2.5 psi. All with the same pulley.

Marty, why dont you run bigger then a 70mm throttle body? I have a 78mm on my m62 that is powering a 2.3L. Have you hooked up a vacuum gauge on the blower to see if the throttle body is still a restriction?

That's as big as we can go with the stock TB bolt pattern.

I am sure you have access to a bandsaw and welder. Flanges are cheap. Just saying...

Its a stock ls1 tb bored to 78mm. A Jeep iac will bolt into it and the tps should be a simple cut and splice. The only thing is, I measured the m90 I have and it was only a 73mm opening. Its a gm m90 though. Pretty sure you are using a different one so it might be different. Some porting might be involved. Sad that my m62 was bigger @ 80mm at the spot I cut it.

Update, I have a walbro 255lph fuel pump, and the ftc1-202 split second tuner, and 36lb bosch injectors. I have an adjustable aem fpr, afr gauge, boost gauge, I am not settled on a turbo yet, I was thinking of a precision 5831mfs I want lower end power, off the line more or less, either that or a 5431e mfs.

I also have a blackout wet shot ZEX system I was thinking of hooking up as a 35 wet shot to reduce intake temps as well as a FMIC. I dont have anything else yet, I want to keep the boost under 10lbs, I was trying to find the pressure map for them, but no success so far.

How is your supercharger working? I would honestly like a supercharger more. more plug and play and no need to mess with anything as much it seems. What do you have and how did you do it? Thanks

My Jeep doesnt have a blower. My Bug does and it works great! When I was building the engine, I was going back and forth between turbo and blower just like you. They both have their own pros and cons so its more of a person preference on what you want. I wanted instant power at any rpm since I road race my Bug. With the blower, thats exactly what I got. The powerband is absolutely perfect. But, there is a good chance that I am going to take the blower off and put a turbo on. Why? Cause the turbo will make more top end power. Its rare that I am below 3500 rpms so a turbo will spool almost instantly at that rpm. So technically, a turbo and a blower fit my needs, both in a different way.

Now if I was to boost the Jeep, it would get a blower. You cant beat the bottom end grunt of a blower. It is less maintenance, more reliable and just a simple system. Look through Martys build threads. He has a lot of good info on the blowers and how they bolt up.
