2-channel 400rms bridged?
Hi, I'm trying to power a 10" 400W rms shallow sub (for xj cubby) and am trying to spend under $100 for the amp, hence the 2-channel instead of mono.
Im having trouble however, finding a 2-channel amp that can bridge the 400W rms for the sub.
This is the only one I have found: anyone heard of it, thoughts?

Most all of the 2-channel bridgeable amps I've seen only bridge to 150W rms. What does this sound like with a sub? Seems like it wouldn’t be very loud at all but I don't know. Should I try to find a different sub aroun 200-300W rms to better fit these 150 bridged amps?

This is your third (that I am aware of) thread on this subject.
Refer back to post #49 in the first thread where Macgyver35 talks about bridging this amp.
Your choice (not my business), but continually adding new threads on the same subject just dilutes answers and irritates those trying to offer help.

I wouldn't waste my hard earned cash on that junk bro, no disrespect.
I didn't want to spend a lot of coin on my XJ sound either so I built with quality used equipment. Try car audio.com there's a ton of quality used stuff with great price points.
I didn't want 2 amps so I found a sweet Genesis 5 channel (50x4 250x1 rms) for $150, new that amps over $400. There tons of subs over there just check out the models and research the specs b/c there's not a lot of air space in a cubby box..

If you are talking about the Dual, disrespect all you want. I think Macgyver probably knows what he is talking about but to each his own....
I personally don't think you really need a separate amp for 5.25" front speakers (in a budget system) but that's just me.

The only questions I still have are as follows:
1.) How close should a 2-channel bridged amp RMS-value and the sub RMS-value be? Like I said, I'm trying to power a 10" 400W RMS sub but have only found amps that can bridge 150 and a few that can bridge 200.
2.) How loud will the sub be with a bridged amp of 150-200W?

It should sound fine its a xj they have awful sound displacement to begin with. I have a Kenwood x500-1 it was like $120 off ebay with 4ga. Wiring kit, that with a 12" fosgate p2 is enough to set off car alarms. The place you dont wanna cheap out on is speakers. Iv ran cheap amps in my boat because there disposable they work fine

Personally, I would ditch the 5.25 for some decent 6.5 comps that Sony amp would work nicely with the comps then run the rear off the deck.
Save some $$ then work on your sub.
I would not run speakers off the deck then a amp/sub in the rear, your mids/hi's can't and won't keep up at volume.
See where a nice 5ch will come in, one amp and half your work is done. It's all about spending $$ ONCE bro..
Trust me take the $100-150 and buy some comps, run them off the deck till you get a amp to wake them up.

Pick up a used deck off Craigslist for about $75.
Not for nothing I buy everything used except speakers. Amps and decks its either they work or don't.
