2-3 inch lift kit breakdown help, please.
So I want to do a small budget boost. I have new 30x9.5x15 tires on already (without rubbing) and don't plan to move to 31's until they wear out. I'm honestly probably not going any larger on tires and don't plan to go all out on my Cherokee.
Now there is several cheap options I'm pondering in a 2-3 inch budget boost. My shocks and rear leafs feel and ride fine and have already done some moderate trails without issues. I like how it rides now.
There is this cheapy 3in lift that has new coil springs, but no new shocks. Cost $107.00
"Rough Country Suspension Lift Kit -- ROUGH COUNTRY SUSPENSION LIFT KIT -- Provides 3 in. lift; Consists of front lift coil springs, rear add-a-leaf springs, and U-bolts; Fits 31 x 10.5 in tires; Raises vehicle's height for increased ground clearance on larger tires;
Then it has this statement "To complete your kit, purchase Rough country shocks and steering stabilizers, sold separately."
Is that a suggestion or do I need these?
Next there is Bob's kit at $68 bones:
Kit Contains:
· 2 - 2" Poly Spacers
· Set of Add A Leafs
I have another RC rear shackles kit that can do 1.75 to 2 inches at about $90.
Kit Contents:
· 1 pair of rear shackles with 2 holes of adjustment (for 1.5" or 2" of height)
· Upper Poly Bushings and All Necessary Hardware
· 1.75" Coil Spacers
Finally the RC kit with the most components at $255.00. This one makes me ask "do I need all this?"
Kit Contents:
· Front: 3" lifted coil springs.
· Rear: Add-a-leaf springs and hardware.
· Shocks: Kit includes (4) Hydro 8000 series shocks
So what is the best small budget boost option and why? $70-107 bucks seems like a small investment if I decide I'm going all out bigger boost later on. $255 seems like I might be spending too much to ever want to remove this lift for something else.
BTW: I think my Cherokee runs fine with 200K on the clock, but it’s not winning any car shows with its faded paint and dents and dings. Like that matters for trails, but I want you to see why I'm not going to sink a lot of money into it when I'm not likely to get it back in a sale.
Toughts and comments appreciated

in short- Yes you need new shocks
Hey atleast you don't need- new control arms, sye, drive shaft, regear, springs, leafs, shackles, relocation boxes, drop brackets, long arms, extended brake lines, adjustable track bar, drop pitman arm, or otk steering.
lol

I did 2" spacers in front, S-10 main leaf in the rear, new U bolts, spring pins, monroe shocks about $225. Looks good on 30 9.50s.

You don't need new shocks lol but I and I'm sure the majority of people recommend new ones. If you can afford it go with that last rc lift cause it comes with everything. I'd say go with rustys Offroad 3 inch kit though for about the same price.

I looked at the Rusty's too. Thanks for the recommendation. I honestly was thinking I could get close to the same thing for 1/3 of the price and who doesn't want that?

I would highly recommend getting new shocks with anything other than the spacer and shackle kit. I would still get them with that one regardless but with 3" you really do need them.
Let me know if you have any question about the shocks

Well someone finally explained it to me. If I get a kit without shocks and over articulate, then they will pop apart if over extended. That is why I'd need new shocks. Anyone disagree?
