1998 Cherokee 4.0 into 1996 Cherokee

I want to swap a 1998 Cherokee 4.0 into my 1996 Cherokee. Will everything from the 98 swap into the 96??

I was there when my PO put a 98 motor in my 96. Old friend that I traded my car for. The only thing that I can recommend when doing the engine swap is make sure you have the harness that came with the engine. Grab everything you can from the donor vehicle related to the engine. Defenfinly if your running a higher mile motor now is if you throw the newer harness in less worries and you know the motor will run right. We did not do that and the first start up didn't go right.
