'96 Dash cluster into a '1993 XJ upgrade questions
I have a 1993 XJ base model 2.5l with the basic gas/speedo cluster and idiot lights. I bought a 1996 cluster I want to put in. From everything I read, it should work as a plug and play, but I ran into some issues:

1- My temperature sending switch (back of the block, drivers side, by the valve cover) has broken off by previous owner. Hard for me to get it out and I don't want to booger with it and cause a leak. Can I buy another thermostat housing with an extra bung to run the new upgraded temperature switch in there in addition to the temperature sensor which is close to the thermostat for computer purposes?

2- I understand that it is hard to adjust the odometer from the 1996 manually. I know this kind of question/talk stirs a lot of illegal this and that banter, but I will keep this till it dies, and will document with photos everything that I have done, including taking photos with a current newspaper to prove when it was taken out, etc.

Now my question is, since I cannot find any legitimate reference online on how to adjust the replacement odometer to match my old one, can I use the whole speedo unit once unbolted from the old cluster in the new cluster? The design may be off, and it does not bother me, but if it will work electrically and mechanically (bolt up), I prefer to use it.

Also, I understand I will need to use a gauge setup temperature switch and oil pressure switch, hence the temperature switch question in #1.
