1995 SE Lift help?
i'm pretty young and new to owning/working with my '95 SE, so any advice is more than welcome. i'm planning on putting a 3' Rough Country Suspension lift on it, and i saw that an extension for my steering and new shocks were possible upgrades, but i didn't know if those would be necessary or just a suggestion. anybody done something similar who could help???

Shocks for a 3" lift yes. When you say steering ext I assume you mean a drop pitman arm and you don't need it at 3".Maybe an adjustable tracbar if your axle needs centered but you could relocate the axle side hole and not need one at all

Which RC 3" kit? Since your asking about the Swaybar drop brackets. Sounds like Series II. You don't need the SB brackets, disconnects would be better. Yes you Need new shocks, no you don't need theirs. I would recoment some OME shocks. I would get the Full Leaf packs, always better than a AAL. An AAL will lift 3" over your CURRENT hieght, and be stiff. The Full Pack lifts 3" over stock hieght. In 18 years your springs have sagged. I would rather have adjustable control arms, but the fixed one are still 10x better than what you have now. Adjustable trackbar is always the best option when lifting, although at 3" your could just relocate the stocker. You will need a SYE if you get driveline vibes, but a TC drop should work at 3" just fine. You MUST do an alignment after the lift, http://go.jeep-xj.info/HowtoAlignment.htm

You want to do cheap.. Do a S-10 or Dakota Bastard Pack for the rear and Front springs from a V8 93-99 ZJ. Add That to a 2" shackle lift and a set of shocks. Take-Off shocks from a JK Rubicon will work. Get the trackbar, control Arms and such later. TC drop can be done for <$15 with materials from lowes.

Yup, AAL = add-a-leaf. I have one on mine and have been hating life ever since i put it on. I haven't had any sagging issues, but it rides like a steel-wheeled sh** wagon...

If I were you I would learn to Maintain and wheel my jeep BEFORE I modified anything. Then the first modifications I would do is Lockers, skid plates and sliders. Stock height Locked XJ will out wheel any XJ with a 4" lift and open difs. Skid plates and sliders allow you to get over those obsticle where the lift may be helpful.
