Reason for doing it this way is to try and keep the main components of high quality and save money on the easier to replace stuff down the road if need be. Besides that.... Off the top I'm figuring I'll need break lines...

Was just reading another thread on brake lines...
1995 c1500 chevy 2wd front and 1995 Dakota rear lines
Where's a good place to grab the lines and U-bolts reasonable like?

Any auto parts store for the lines..they will run you about 30 total. U bolts order online or have some made at a dedicated bolt store..usually cost around 30 a set also

I'm going to be the bearer of bad news, but you're going to need more than a tc drop for your 86 if you have a stock drive shaft up front. For the rear the only option for the stock tc is a hack and tap.
edit: not saying you'll need to do anything with the rear yet, but just know there isn't a sye for the tc available during those years.

Very interested in something I'm missing as I'm using this as my daily driver.

A set of 4" shackles came with the kit I got from Rough Country but I won't be needing them seeing as I went with new leaf packs. I asked if they could trade out the 4" for some closer to stock ones but they didn't answer me...

if you want no DW you will almost certainly need a SYE, when i was at 4.5" my tcase drop did me no justice DW once i hit 45-50 and my buddy even at 3" needed an SYE to prevent DW. if you riding an auto you can always use a stock front shaft in there rear after installing an SYE. you wil want longer brake lines if your wheeling. also make sure you have front and rear recovery points, either hooks or better yet after market bumpers. besides that seems like a good start, maybe rock some rear after market shackles too full leafs packs and stock shackles are never good friends.
