My old jeep i had a fiberglass box built (when i was in highschool and thought it was cool to blow checks on music) it wrapped around the wheelwells and angled with the seat.. it cost me like 600 painted the same color as the jeep and it help two kicker Square L7s, two 6x9s facing up, and had an amp rack built to my amp... it was much better than having four boxes and two amps bouncing around and it was very loud... I dont like just throwing a square box in there (what i have now) because it wastes so much room with the way the seat angles... i think something like that is the best bet for an xj if you want to spend the money

And for the record, subs don't "hit"
I am sorry sir that i obviously do not know as much as you considering you just corrected me and said nothing at all to help this post how about you tell me what you know about car audio now?

He's simply stating there's no point arguing the issue. Everyone here builds their stereo to their own liking. Not everyone wants the same thing as you do. So to each his own.

Kfx's box doesn't just fit into the cubby either. You have to cut itout to fit the box into the quarter area. Its much more than .5 cubic feet.
