Default 01 catalytic converters

I see that some catalytic converter discussion is currently allowed. If someone wanted to put a traditional header on an 01 with the 2 converters on the downpipe could the secondary o2 sensors be tuned out? Or is there another option? Getting that extra heat out from under the hood would definitely be advantageous.

I have used o2 spacers (the 90 degree ones) on a 96 to keep the cel off. I'm not sure how they would work with the 01 pcm.

Yep, can be done...did it myself.

Regular header from a 99' down, PCM from a 2000 Federal Emissions.

As long as it passes emissions, that's all that matters in my mind, and should matter as far as the .gov is concerned.

Nice, what did you do about the extra o2 sensors? SC doesn't have inspections so no worries there, and I feel like it would pass anyway with the big downstream cat

The PCM doesn't have provisions for them, so even if they we're plugged in, it's a non-responsive "node". Think of it as a connector without a pin there.

Excellent, thanks. Just got to figure out if I need to do anything special due to the SKIM module. Kinda just want to do away with it, pretty sure I can just unplug it and swap in a non skim 00 pcm
