Default Catalytic Converters was stolen

I parked my cherokee in the drive way instead of the front of my house and they cut it off. The question I have is this, I put in a straight pipe for now but the check engine light is on because it is showing too much carbon. Anyway to by pass this or better anyway of secuting the Catalytic Converter if I have another one installed. Don't want the theives stealing another one. Thanks for the input....

That sucks! Dirty rotten thieves should burn in hell.

Anyways, I'd suggest finding another catalytic converter. It's illegal to remove it, even it's stolen.

The same thing happened to a bunch of cars at my work. I dont think there is really any other way to secure it either.
