Default ZSU II

My 86 Cherokee Pioneer is sweet! Love it so far. I've had it for about two months now, but due to time restraints I could only just get started... It currently is red, but fading... Future plans for that already... But I just finished putting tint on it a few days ago, and now it looks killer. I also already bought a 60 inch hi lift, which is roof mounted, and a cb radio setup for it. Just a few days ago we got hit with a huge snow storm and I ran into a few problems. When I bought it, I was having trouble with the for wheel drive, and managed to get stuck in the snow the other day. Somehow I broke the spindle head off inside the radiator fan pully... Thanks to my friend we went to the junk yard and pulled parts off a comanche engine and fixed it up today. Gonna throw some fresh antifreeze in it tomorrow and fire it up!

So my buddy and me put fluid in the Jeep last weekend, got it all ready, fired it up, and realized that the harmonic balancer we installed from the junk yard had a big ***** crack in it... Lame!!! After all the time we spent getting it on, the temp seal the person before put on got pulled off when we were cleaning off the nasty old paper gasket to put on some new gasket maker. Now with everything in place I don't think I can patch the hole all the way, so i'm thinking another junk day is in order. No cracked sh** this time!! Give me something good to work with here...

So bad news... Went junking, and decided it was just better to but a new water pump... The one we put on before was cracked bad. Spent all day Saturday outside in 15 degrees, and another damn leak showed up, this time near the return house to the radiator... Oi ve... Can't seem to win for losing. Hopefully its an easy enough fix I can get it rolling this week.

Junkyard parts are a last resort, buy new parts whenever you can and save yourself a lot of headaches and money in the long run.

I think after tax I spent like 27. But now I have a new leak... After I get it running i'm looking at suspension. My leaf springs are basically flat, and my friend mentioned respringing them. I know its not a great long term solution but i'm on a budget right now.

What is your opinion on rearching springs? I've found really mixed reviews, but where I called about it said that rearching and buying new springs would be about the same because they add a leaf when they rearch them...

you have to find a quality shop to do this. in my experience in the state of washington we have used probably a dozen or so companies and only one does decent rearching.

So I think I'm blaming the new leak on the cold weather... The gasket maker we used didn't seal right in 10 degrees. So it looks like one more go at it this weekend, and fingers crossed and knock on wood, no more problems...

Okay, so I went and bought a paper gasket today to fix the still leaking water pump, got the old gasket off nice and clean, and put out on in the pattern I was shown... Damn thing still leaks. Anyone with ideas feel free to enlighten me cause i'm at a loss now... No clue what to try next...
