Purple Power, Gunk engine bright, 3M foaming engine degreaser, steam cleaning, elbow grease?

What has worked well for you?

 

I believe the stuff my dad used on the MJ was Purple Power... Ill check when I get home...

I felt that it didnt really make a noticable difference. It mainly just clean the valve cover...

 

It made a difference all right, it made Purple Power a couple more bucks, just as I thought, these engine degreasers are BS, steam cleaning is prolly best.

 

A nice hot water pressure washer can clean many things...lol

 

Simple Green is amazing stuff.

 

Engine/tire cleaner at car wash followed by high pressure rinse.
Except for the fact that i smoke my TPS every time, it works great.

 

+1 on that. I've used Simple Green a lot, it works great. For some reason, Purple Power doesn't work too well. I have used both on my cars and on my dirtbike to remove grease and baked on mud on the header. Simple Green just plain old does it better.

Spray on, let sit a bit, brush, and rinse. Works great for me.

 

I have always gone to the car wash and used the tire clean degreaser stuff.More pressure,works great.

 

enginge Gunk for me works & then hose it off.

 

Anyone ever had any problems with water on the electonics? Ever fry anything when doing this? I power washed the under side of the 'ol heep but was nervous about under the hood.

 

X4 on Simple Green, Good stuff. There is also a citrus degreaser/cleaner that I used recently, it worked suprisingly well.

 

Simple Green Automotive....spray it on...drink a beer. Then rinse it off.
