Your opinion on this 3" OME lift and 31" tires
Im looking at the budget lift from OME. http://www.rocky-road.com/xjbudget.html My jeep has a stock suspension, 4x4, 8.25 rear axle, and if i get this i want to buy my neighbor's 31" tires. If i buy these tires will they fit (no rub) on a 3" lift with no fender trimming? And should i get the kit that has new shocks? I'm new to XJs but i heard OME is very reliable. Also, i wont be doing any extreme offroading or anything like that, maybe some trails but nothing extreme. Any help is appreciated, thanks

You will rub on 31's. Just bumpstop it to keep the travel down. You will need shocks.
From my exp OME is usually priced kinda high not familiar with there budget boost.

Rocky road SUCKs...DPG and others are much better to deal with then the rocky road clowns...if you order from them good luck. It took over two months and the Utah BBB to get my money back from them...google em and you will see what I am talking about...oh and I aint the only one. they suck

don't mess with rocky road they are idiots. Go to rough countrys site and check out their 3 inch its 250 with everything you need and it clears 31x10.5s. You wont rub. Good luck. And make sure you post pics!

Fail!
You will rub with 31x10.5. You will have to trim or bump stop it 30's are max with no trimming and no bumpstopping on a rough country lift. No you wont rub super bad but steering you will hot control arma and if you max flex you will be in your fenders eating the up.

The OME lifts i just found on dpg that are 3" cost $945! thats crazy, but i dont want to deal with the idiots from the other website so now im confused all over again on what to do. i was orginally going to get rough country 4.5" but i heard the shocks are crap, a friend of mine ruined his front shocks the first day he had them. I want to stick with anything within $500, i figured i could get more quality on a smaller lift like 3" within that budget

Add a leaf is better then blocks and yea its 500 with the full springs but if your stock ones aren't in bad shape the add a leaf will be just fine. My friend runs 32s no trimming or extra back spacing and it only rubs when its fully stuffed

Is this for looks or function? If for function 500$ is a drop in the bucket compared to what you will spend totaled. If it is for function what do you want it to handle mudding, trailrides, rock crawling, desert racing? Does your rig have armor/skids? Skids and no fear of mashing the gas can get you just as far as a jeep with 31's and no armor. Any recovery points tow hooks, tow hitch, aftermarket bumper with d rings? There is a lot to think about when building your jeep. Do it right and enjoy jeep life.
