You know you drive an 96+ xj when you are the only one who can open the back doors and undo the seat belts
When your battery dies and you find out you can stick weld with jumper cables (Think about it)

When people get in your backseat and can't figure out the seat belts cause the buckles are underneath the seat and the belts are behind the backrest.

When you take a "shortcut" to your friend's house by cutting across a field, even though it takes 5 minutes longer.
When 215 miles on 3/4 tank of fuel is the best thing since sliced bread.

you know you drive an xj when explaining "yes this part will work, no it doesn't matter it's from a/an (insert vehicle here), yes I'm dead sure it'll work, yeah it'll take a few hours on saturday" becomes second nature to you, and you know the few hours on saturday will somehow like always with xj time turn into the whole weekend lol.

I love to screw with people, I always fold down my back seat and stick the belts behind the lock for the seat, then when they grab the belt they can't figure out how to get it around the lock!

It's awesome how many of us have done this. I love doing that too. My friends freak out because they do not trust my driving skills and want to buckle-up but can't.

You know you drive an XJ when you go out right after it rains and find a nice muddy area or turn so you can drift your XJ in the mud, I love handbrakes!
