I don't have any experience with the xrc8 but I do know there's a couple people on here running the rough country 9,500lb winch and I've heard good things about that one. And its the same price $299

Got one a month ago and used it the first trip out with it. It worked great. I would recommend.

They have good customer service... After they sent me just about every part of the winch... they ended up sending me a new winch... Only took 3 months for them to do it, as they kept telling me to replace parts.

My brother has one and it works good just a little slow next to my Warn but not as slow as a MileMarker. Make sure you have a good battery cause they pull a ton of amps.

I have one on my Wrangler and it's had no trouble pulling her out a couple of times. As will be said, it's slow.

agreed slow but for the price there a great buy. I know two people with XRC8's and one with a XRC10 and all have had no issues thus far. All three have owned theres for at least a year so far and use them semi regularly I'd say. Don't have my Jeep no more but on my next one I am gonna think strongly about buying a XRC10 Comp

After breaking a Superwinch and watching a guy in our club carry spare parts for his Smittybilt I went with a Moto Alliance winch. I am sure the internals are just like the other cheap winch's out there but my buddies that run them on their ATVs have had great success with them.

Comes with a good bit of stuff to include a wireless remote. I've seen them go on eBay for $279 at times.
Here is another one of there's for a good price:

I think they gave one of those away on JeepForum a few years back.
