I just bought a 1998 Cherokee Sport. Wondering where to post questions about it. The forum subdirectories are confusing to me....

That would be an XJ. Jeep Cherokee (not Grand) 1984-2001
For just "chatting" about it, you're in the right forum. If you want technical advice, post in the Technical Discussion area. Stock Tech is for advice on stock parts/service, Modified Tech is for aftermarket modifications.

Got it. Thanks! It is a 1998 that I bought last week here in Mexico. It is in fantastic shape and the odometer reading is 78,700 miles. Hard to believe the mileage is that low. But it is in great shape. Just did a computer scan and only one code related to the oxygen sensor. Should be easy for my mechanic to change.

I've spent a lot of time in Merida, and have relatives that live there. It's a beautiful city and my favorite part of the country.
Sounds like you got a great truck! Glad you have you on board!!

Here is the OEM technical forum, for questions related to non-modified XJs. (generally, for any problems you run into)
Here is the modified forum, for talking about modifications. (Lifts, bigger tires, and on and on). This is usually for serious off-roaders.
By the way, these cars can be very picky about their sensors. There are two that are especially critical - the Crankshaft Position Sensor, and the O2 sensor. For these two, it is strongly recommended that you use only the original equipment, made by NGK. You can find these under the Mopar (Chrysler) label or the NTK label. (Or is it NTK, sold under the NGK label? I can never remember!
Anyway, if it says NGK, NTK, or Mopar, it's good.
Even good quality brands like Bosch are not recommended on these two sensors.
