Xj motor swap
So unfortunately my 00 xj is no longer salvagable, but the powertrain is still in great shape. I'm getting a 98 xj tomorrow and I wanted to through my 00 engine into it. Are there any foreseeable issues with that? Any help would be greatly appreciated

I don't think you wanna swap that 00 engine into the 98. The 98 is actually a more reliable engine so to speak than the 00 because the 00 and 01 models have the 0331 head issue where it cracks then you'll have to replace the whole head...

Remove your oil cap and look in to the head,Look at the base of the head between cylinder 3 and 4 rockers,Look for the word TUPY cast in the head,If its there you got the upgraded replacement head.If its not there i would skip using that 00 engine. So what is all wrong with the 98 your picking up?
