XJ Cubby Sub Build
So I had 2 12" subs and a huge box to go with it and i was sick of always moving it around whenever I needed to haul something. So i built this cubby sub. Im not going to be making another nor am I going to sell them. I put the rough dimensions up so that others can copy mine if they wish.
This took a good 15 hours of work and about $100 in materials (could cost less if you're more careful than I) but the customization is worth it to me. It includes a little storage container (my favorite part) which actually has more room than I planned. Im just keeping rope and soft things in there so it wont rattle so much.
anyways... heres some pics of the build and the plans i used. again these plans are rough and i had to make some modifications to make it fit. It doesn't take the width of the material into account.

$100? Damn. Makes the subthump box look better, lol. I don't need a 12" anyways.
Looks good though, I dig the storage cubby, just don't put anything that'll rattle in it.
I'm also curious how you mounted/secured it.

If you look closely at the 4th photo you can see inside the woofer hole I have bolts along the back and the floor. The floor bolts are 1/4"X2" self tappers. Then on the back I have 1/4"X2-1/4" bolts with nuts on the back side of the panel. On the top of the back side I have the same bolt but with 1" spacers in between the panel.
After a day of driving around everything is still solid and it sounds great.
I agree, a 12 is a little much for just driving around but I got everything for free so I couldn't say no!
