I've been looking for this type of XJ for years. When I was a kid, I remember driving past a dealership and seeing one. My parents were in the market for a new vehicle and I tried desperately to convince them. Didn't work. Dealership sold it and I never saw one again.
I've been looking online for years for a picture of one but never had any luck. I was starting to think I had imagined the whole thing. Pretty cool to know I'm still lucid.
It was most likely made by a van conversion company. I worked at a few Dodge dealerships and had the misfortune of working a van conversions. The workmanship was always awful and the wiring was worse.
X2. The roof conversion is one thing, and I still say there's no possible way that fiberglass shell has anything close to the structural integrity of the factory roof; but their execution of the body add-ons is awful and looks like change for the sake of change.
