Saw a 1992 XJ for sale earlier this week.

It was listed as a Camper Special. Can't seem to find the ad again so it may have sold. He was asking $1,200.

I've been looking for this type of XJ for years. When I was a kid, I remember driving past a dealership and seeing one. My parents were in the market for a new vehicle and I tried desperately to convince them. Didn't work. Dealership sold it and I never saw one again.

I've been looking online for years for a picture of one but never had any luck. I was starting to think I had imagined the whole thing. Pretty cool to know I'm still lucid.

Pretty sure who ever bought it is trying to flip it. Looks like the same one. The year has changed from a '92 to a '96.

It was most likely made by a van conversion company. I worked at a few Dodge dealerships and had the misfortune of working a van conversions. The workmanship was always awful and the wiring was worse.

 

X2. The roof conversion is one thing, and I still say there's no possible way that fiberglass shell has anything close to the structural integrity of the factory roof; but their execution of the body add-ons is awful and looks like change for the sake of change.
