what the picture said I quote...

"My buddy has a 88 wrangler and did this one night, he called me about 1 am damn near in tears saying how he tried to cross the stream (there is a slickrock we usually cross pretty easily) anyway he somehow got swept off the rock and it isn't too deep normally but it was pouring rain, so by the time he called me it was around headlight height and by the time I was able to call a favor in and get someone down there to help it was mid windshield from sliding down the stream a bit into the deeper part. He got pretty lucky since the engine was shut off and didn't take in any water, still had to rebuild the carb and some other shist, not to mention redo the entire electrical system"

this was the first time i wheeled mine....i will post two pics...the first being blury but you can see how steep the hill was i slid down, and the second being a non blury pic but you just cant see the hill to well

anyways, my friends found a really rough trail that they didnt think it would be a good idea for me do go down bc it was a steap hill that at the bottom you had no choice but to pretty much lay your jeep on its side and crawl out on its side, then once out the trail righted the jeeps...well they were ripping door handles off and caving in doors...but MINE was the only one that was driven there and had to be driven home bc they trailered theres, plus, at the time, mine still looked good...it wasnt banged up..

so i looked and looked for a better hill to go down...a couple of them walked up the hill to me to help me decide...well the only hill was the one you see in the pic behind the jeep...it was the one with least resistance i guess you could say..lol...BUT i had to be careful, bc 5 feet down from where the trail/hill started, there was a tree and the trail split into 2 trails, and you did not want to take the one to the left...it was a definent roll over going that way

well, i had her in 4 low and was creeping down in 1st gear, i didnt want to use the brakes at all bc the hill was slick as snot so i didnt want to lock the wheels up bc i know once i did it was going to be all over....well, when i got to the tree i slowly and slightly turned the wheel to the right...well at that point, i still had another 30 feet of muddy steep hill to go down before, as the plan was, i would gently put it into the creek...thats not how it happened

once i turned the steering wheel that little bit to the right to avoid the tree, that was enough to lock them up just from the engine compression...

at first it started to slide sideways, i knew if i didnt pull outa that it was going on its side, so i straightened it out JUST in time to nose it into the creek like that at about 18 MPH..i had a very large cooler on wheels in the back on my jeep full of hot dogs, hamburgers, sunkist, water and ice, and, well, that cooler came flying to the front, i had ice all over my lap, hamburgers on the dash, hot dogs all over the passenger seat, a sunkist became a projectile and went thru my open window taking out my drivers side mirror, landing in the creek

the 2 friend of mine who were on top of the hill said they couldnt stop laughing bc the whole way down that hill, all they heard coming outa my window was "f*&k f*&k f(*k....."...well, my friends that were at the bottom of the hill couldnt believe it...one of them ran up to me asking me if i was alright...all i could answer back with was "My damn cooler just spilled" he goes "forget the cooler, are you ok" and i just said yea..lol..when the ice went everywhere, he thought it was glass and he was expecting to see a bloody mess...

my friends that were on top of the hill came running down expecting to see a mangled front end with coolant everywhere..they were already trying to figure out how we were going to get my jeep home bc they were sure it was done...no more...

all i got outa that was a slightly bent liscence frame..other then that not a scratch....those unibodies are tough as nails..they pulled me out and we went on our way

see you can kinda look in this photo and see how steep the hill was i slid down

Do not have any photos of the mess but I was stuck behind Boco Chica Beach Texas up to the door handles. It took me three hours and two other jeeps to pull me out.

happened this weekend, its not much but it counts...but sorry no pics...was like 2 am....anyways, me and my buddys were gonna go to this cave in the woods, and long story short, they had 2 stock suburbans and i had a short wheel-based jeep. so we are going down this little trail( not too ruff, mostly mud) so were making very well and all, then all of a sudden, a tree comes out of nowhere...so there we are trying to decide what to do... and then we see a little trail someone had made to walk around said tree. so after a good 15 minutes of deliberating, my friends convienced me to try it..... the hill was like this _-_ very steep, not long...basically perfect to bottom out on...and thats what i did. so long story short, ended up taking 4 guys and some of our firewood to get out. funny part is, we didnt have to make a fire cause my tires spun so much on the wood that it turned a side of it into a black smoking hot stick lol
