the trick is not to go in water over the hood... which is dumb anyway... lol... and im not done with it quite yet... right now a bucket is my friend when it rains... lol... im going to make a reversable "cowl" ... open end to the front for like a "ram air" effect and then it can spin around when its raining to have like a cowl effect... theres a lip on the high end so water wont poor in around the intake and its diverted around the whole... i guess i need to get started on that... so many projects... lol

i think my worst "getting stuck" story was more of a "avoiding sudden death" story. last winter (2009) i was driving to class, and it was just after a quick thaw and freeze in mid February. the road i drive has this down hill section that goes over a bridge on the downhill to get you over a river, flat bottoms at an intersection, and then goes up hill for about a 1/4 mile. i'm on the downhill part cruising with traffic, and the light at the intersection suddenly turned red. i go to apply the brakes, and suddenly the wheels start sliding on a black ice patch on the downhill! i point my wheel over to the side and start feathering the throttle to pull me into the side of the road so i don't hit the guy ahead of me, and i suddenly catch a non-iced patch of road and it shoots me over to the road side. except for the roadside, it's a 4 foot wide snowbank that leads to a 30ft drop into the river. total panic/"oh ****" mode, so i cut the wheel back into traffic and hit the gas to try to correct the over steer , and i wind up sitting with my entire bottom of the jeep sitting on top of a snowbank that was more of a block of ice with the passenger front wheel just beginning to tip over the edge of the drop. i tried putting it in reverse once i got my nerves back, but had no traction what-so-ever. called AAA to have a tow truck come pull me off the snowbank. missed class, and i was able to drive it home without a problem. looking back, it's if i slid another two feet to the right, i'd have been laying upside down in a river dead locked in my jeep.
Hopefully this season ill have a computer. Ill post the full size dummies I pull out. Have one already. F 250 slid off a driveway. He framed on the asphalt edge. And sat right under the seats. Almost stock dd pulled him out!
