the new stuff they have rolled out is a disgrace to the JEEP badge in my opinion..Liberty, Patriot, Commander, etc... does anyone else agree??
my personal favorites-
Comanche- we had one growing up, still running in my home town, truck has close to 400k on it..
Cherokee- got one now- love it
HONCHO'S- just a bad -a- truck to me.
Wagoneers
ZJ's
CJ'S YJ'S- had one wish I never sold it.
and I know most of these were sold as Chryslers but it's not the same, maybe I am just getting old

I am not a Chrsyler basher- hear me out.
I don't get in to what big 3 is better than the other and while I do respect the hell out of Toyota -have experiences with 22re and 3.4 v6- they are not for me when it comes to what I want to spend time working on and take pride in driving like a JEEP does..and neither do sports cars or anything of the sorts- No other badge in history for me comes close to Jeep..Nothing is cooler than riding in a old Wrangler with top and doors off on a summer day, or riding the trails in a Cherokee, or seeing some older models and just remembering what Jeep used to be..
In a perfect world I wish Jeep was it's own maker. Not a division of another bigger company...Jeep now a division of Chrysler seems to have blended in to the main stream and they are starting to look like the rest to me, that's just my opinion...For awhile it seemed Chrysler let Jeep be Jeep and then- recently- started to overhaul it to be more consumer friendly and appeal to all instead of apealing to people like us enthusiats of the older models..I know thats not possible...But what made Jeep so great to me is that it was rugged, tough, and just completely different looks than the massed produced boxes that the bigger companies rolled out there..
Look at the older models I mentioned in the 1st post- when I see one of them I think JEEP- The newer models not so much..I wish the toughness and unique qualities that made Jeep what it was would come back some how..But until then I will just chug along in my 96 XJ and remeber the good old days, and for the record I'm not that old -35- but I saw alot of Jeep products around here growing up and still do on occasion.

I love my cherokee, but my favorite would be the 1976 Jeep truck... you guys call them the Honcho, but I was pretty sure Honcho was a trim. I called it J10.
Thing was a beast. All metal outside. Previous owner was the only owner. Had no mechanichal problems, it only needed some body work and a new seat. We had it for about a year, and then my dad sold it for $800 bucks.

Besides my Cherokee, I also have an 05 Liberty CRD, it not only gets great gas mileage and has tons of torque, it's super fun to zip around in, I love my Libby, not as much as the Cherokee, but have no regrets in buying it.

I have one too. I know it sounds like they get good gas mileage, but for what it is, it really doesn't get that great of m.p.g. I'm not bashing it, I love mine too. They got *****. I'd LOVE to lift mine and put some money into it but I'd rather do it to my xj.
I wish they would build a JK with no electronics. I didn't want the power locks, or power windows in my XJ, but when you buy used you get some things you don't want. The new JK comes with ABS, and traction control(except in low range). I was going to buy a new JK, but decided to put some money in my XJ. I don't need anymore electrics on a vehicle. If it get to long in the tooth, I'll think about again.

I would not change a thing... I am glad it started with AMC.... and went to Chrysler... then to diamler- Chrysler and then what it is now... Because everyone makes mistakes... every car company has its good with the bad.. remember they are in the Business to make money... not please us Xj Fans.... But when they did the Xj it was what we wanted... and they still make most of the replacement parts for our Xj what more do you want them to do... Make a new one... Nah it would never live up to the xj we have no so just let it be....

if they wouldnt have "sold out" then they would be gone. the Jeep brand would not have survived the times
