Window tint
I ended up with 20%. I had the luxury of just hanging different shades on all the rear windows before I bought it and any darker was too dark for me. I wasn't looking for limo tint, just darkening up a bit

Window tint is very hard to do, its almost an art to do it properly, also if u buy the cheap DIY stuff from auto stores alot of the time they tend to fade to an ugly purple color.

I agree, I have messed up a couple of other attempts, but I think I have the hang of it. I will remove windows this time and now I know about shrinking the film to fit. Letting it dry for a couple of days in proper temperature and remove as much solution as humanly possible.

Popout the windows??? Why???
For an XJ i'd say about 35-50 bucks for a side window. prolly 60-75 for the back window, and nobody will remove your windows. that is a waste of time.
I've done like 6 cars. the jeep cherokee is the easiest to do. flat and box.
Buy a tint install kit.its like 6 bucks.
Its not hard to do on your own. Just pic a calm and def not even a breezy day. In a garage if you can. I'm getting ready to mine when its nicer out. I have no garage, remove your door panels and make sure you clean the windows and keep the tint and window very very wet. Most importantly, cut straight.
Start from the middle of the window and feather out the bubbles. once most of the bubble are out grab a hairdryer to help dry it. don't spend too much time in one spot with the dryer. DO NOT open the nely tinted window for 24 hrs.
Let me know if you have any questions. Take your time and be patient.
the darker the tint the less fade character it has
