My 89 is missing the seals on passenger side. It's missing the seal the window slides up and down inside the door. Also same problem with drivers rear door. Windows rattle and of course leak. I found the front for $45 but rear they want $145. Any ideas to make something or a cheaper place? Wouls weather stripping work you think?

 

They want $145 for that stupid rubber seal thing that looks like a windshield wiper? Just get one from a junkyard.

 

I'd have to go out and look at the xj's set up but typically there is a felt channel on doors where the window follows... seeing phoenix isn't to far away I bet they'd have an auto fabric wholesale shop where you could pick up material for pennies on the dollar...

at least there was shops like that in socal when I restored cars...always easier to find in metropolitan areas

 

Yea the felt things work much better than the XJ's rubber things, they're too tight, it's too hard to roll the window up and it makes noise.
