Default winch ?

I'm looking for a winch and came across a warn mx8000 for $250 suppose to work great but one of the mounting feet or whatever you want to call them has been broken off. Is that a deal breaker or something that can be worked with?

Pass on it.
A broken mount means that the entire winch is suspect.

I dont know a whole lot about winches, but i know that they are supposed to have ALL of the mounting points/feet things. I say no. Even if the foot was welded back on, i wouldnt trust it. Just my $.02

I wouldn't buy it, since its broken. I wouldnt trust it. You dont want to buy a questionable winch, and risk it failing when you need it.
FWIW, my Smittybilt XRC8 cost $300 new, and it works every time. I dont have to worry about whether or not its going to break on me when I need it most.

Since Warn winches can be rebuilt, I would contact them by phone and ask their opinion.
If they could sell you an end that has the mounting point you need and they think it would be OK to rebuild it it could be a good deal. Not 100 percent sure but I think they also rebuild winches.

I got more info from the guy and the winch doesn't have wire on it and the solenoid box is missing the cover or something and needs to be hard wired. Not sure what that means but it sounds like I could buy a brand now m8000 for a little more so I'm goung to keep looking.

I just bought and installed a M8000 for 599 plus tax. 651 all together. Install was fairly easy.
