will it fit
I have a 91 5 speed 4.0 l xj. I possibly may be getting a 97 4.0 l auto xj.
First what all, if any mods would be needed for doors fenders and front clip to fit???
Second, what all would be needed for the engine to swap into mine??
Finally all 4 seats and center console
Links, advice, suggestions welcome!!!
No I don't want to swap what I have to the 97, because of rust on rockers, floor, and rear quarters

Front clip will bolt on...lights need some re-wiring.
Doors will bolt on, but the strike on the body is in a different spot and is designed a little different. I welded the new style strikes on when I did this swap. Doors also need a lot of re-wiring.
You could swap the engine into yours.....its a bolt in affair. Only difference is the temp guage sensor is not on the back of the head on 97+. You will need to drill and tap the head, or make an adapter(thats what I did)
Front seat mounts are completly different from 91 and 97. You will need to modify you existing mounts or build new ones. They changed the floor pan in 96+.
Center consel is pretty simple. The front screws under the t-case bezel and shifter bezel match up. You will need to re-located your e-brake handle a bit. I also built a small brkt for the back of the consol, mimicing the factory 97+ brkt.
Hope that helps bro! I have done all of this, so feel free to ask more questions.
