Default Wierd sound?

My xj seems to have an issue, sometimes, not all the time, when I take off or when I'm turning, itll make a sort of "dud dud" sound and you can fell it. Any ideas?

Your description Is a little vague but it sounds like a u joint. Like I said that's just a guess but those go alot on xj's, and will click or thump when turning if it's an axle u joint and itll vibrate usually if it's a drive shaft u joint.

Well, to make sure, try jacking it up, and see off there's any play in the u joints buy grabbing the axle shaft side of the u joint and then pulling the tire back and fourth just a bit. it's not a bad idea to get new u joints just to have em if they do go bad if that's not the current problem. I highly recomend paying the extra money on the ones with grease fittings.

mine is doing the same exact thing. i was driving with my mom today and it did it and she bout jumped out of her seat and starting freaking out and got all nervous, i just smiled and laughed.

just another thing to add to the list of things to fix...

It's the transmission mount, the bar under your xj right in the middle pretty much, theres a mount right above it... I took it to my friend who has a hydraulic lift, and it's not really bolted anymore. Can't seem to find a new one though =\

Thats what I was thinking. Glad I didn't have to do the axle u joints this time, I wasnt really looking forward to it

I'd rather do ujoints all day that screw with a t-case but that's just me. Prolly cuzz I've gotten so good at u joints lol. Having my own hydraulic lift, everytool you can image, and air tools, it makes life easier as well.
