Anyone Know how hard it is to Change front axle U-Joints? I need to change mine, the drivers side is pretty bad.. Also, where can I get some good ones for cheap? Is it worth the $56 an hour to pay the shop or can I do it myself in the driveway with limited tools and mechanical knowledge?

How limited of tools? You need a 36mm socket to take the axle nut off and a 12pt 13mm socket to get the hub assembly bolts off.

The corroison will make the axle nut near impossible to get off.

I just changed the passenger side hub assembly (bad bearing) and it took me six hours for removal, future rust preventing and re-assembly.

This is the how to; http://www.myjeepxj.com/index.php?pa...nt-replacement

A small toolbox, all hand tools, I dont even own an air compressor.. I have a small craftsman ratchet that I use for everything, I have the 13mm 12pt, but I will have to buy the other socket for the hub.. I have a Large pipe I use as a "cheater bar" and If I break the ratchet I will take it to sears and get a new one.. Dont know when im gonna do this though...

At the min you will need a 1/2" drive breaker bar. You will snap that rachet every time. I broke my 1/2" breaker bar and ended cutting the axle nut off.
