why take doors off and chop the top?
this will probably ruffle some feathers but why does everyone take their doors off and cut the roof off of their wheeling (and street driven) XJs? If you guys wanted wranglers why not get one instead of ruining a perfectly good XJ?
I mean i know the reason is most likely for a better view of trail obstacles or maybe you simply think it looks cool?
what happens when you have no doors or top and you roll over on the trail? that cant be a good thing with nothing to keep your arms and legs (and head!) inside the vehicle. Sure they make harnesses to keep you in the seat but most people are hanging halfway out the door looking under their jeep while crawling so i doubt they are even using them
i love the looks of the full body XJ, anyone else feel the same?

I too hate chop tops...they look like a premature mid-80's t100 and yeah they make wranglers for a reason...
But no doors would be sweeeeet especially here in Texas summers

I'm going to chop the back off mine and simply move the hatch window up etc etc, I like the way it looks and have some rust on the back that has to be cut anyways, I don't like roofless but I like the way it looks when you cut it to the doors. Add in the bumpers that connect from front to back for support and I'm sure some other things. All personal taste.
gotta love it when they chop it and don't reinforce it

I don't care for them, Besides I want my things (and myself) protected from the elements. Most of my driving is in snow. And in the summer, My AC works. Or flip the wing windows all the way forward, You'll get more air, bugs, and dirt then you'll ever want.

I love how so many people think that the Wrangler is the only thing allowed not to have doors. So I cant have a XJ and remove the doors? If I want to drive with no doors I have to buy a Wrangler? I had a Wrangler already and I got rid of it, doesnt mean I cant take the doors of of my XJ.

Cherokee's aren't exactly a work of art. lol. Wranglers are expensive compared to my $500 Cherokee. I haven't taken any doors or body panels off, but it's a possibility. I just with the hatch window would roll down.
