I get a few out here in the rural area where I live.
The lifted guys all wave, but stockers dont really.
To some ppl jeeps are just another car (I know right?
)
THere's a yota guy out here that gives me the peace sign when I see him...lol
When I was riding my motorcycle everyone else on bikes waved.
Oh and the guys in the huge chevys/dodges/ect don't wave at all!
(they are to cool for that sort of thing..............LOL)

I don't bother waving to dead-stock jeeps...they don't even notice.
Lifted/moded xjs usually wave, and I have occassionally gotten waves/nods from lifted wranglers- makes my day
I figure if they don't wave back they aren't real jeep owners anyway lol.

Hey..mine's a stocker and only has a few mods that you can't see from outside. Don't discriminate!

i have one legitimate reason. i live in a city and last time i waved at a jeep (who didn't wave back) i almost rear-ended the city bus. around here the traffic gets so bad that you can do nothing but keep one eye ahead, other in the rear view mirror and you still need two more to check the side mirrors
i've quit waving at people, i just see if they wave first, then i wave. now, if i drive out to the country, i just wave at every truck on the road.
after moving to the city, i found out that it's just not normal to wave at people in a big city. when i lived out in the country, everybody waved, especially pickup to pickup.

I disagree it may have been started by wrangler owners or rather CJ owners, but it is a jeep thing hence the sticker, it doesn't say its a wrangler thing you wouldn't understand it says its a jeep thing you wouldn't understand. Not trying to start drama cause i don't want conflict with my fellow cherokee guys just saying my opinion on it.

figure i will post something to cheer everyone up..it sure cheered me up when i saw the open spot next to all of um and give me opportunity for a good picture. Four lifted cherokee's in one place at once and there are sometimes at least two more with us, have yet to be able to get a pic of that though. so here it is...some eye candy.

it looks like im in a good area then, i get waves from all kinds of jeeps, it seems to me that jeeps are growing here for some reason, a lot more lifted cherokees too, a lot of lifted jks though and every time i see them they look at me in awe like saying what?? you can lift other kinds of jeeps too! but they wave so i give them credit for trying haha, but at least the jeep wave is not dying here, thats my favorite thing about driving around, i even get waves from the lifted xterras and land rovers around, even some of the big dodge and chevy guys wave and nod!

At first I got mad, because no one was waving back, and would only wave at other lifted XJ's...theres a few around my area and said **** the other Jeeps.
But then I started getting waves from other Jeepers....and felt HORRIBLE that I didnt wave in the 1st place or they didnt see me wave afterwards.
So now I wave at all the lifted/modded Jeeps, just incase.
Funny thing is...
I get more waves from the non-Jeep owners, that have lifted/modded rigs.

I get quite a few waves from other lifted rigs in the area. not that many and I tend to see the same ones often so its more a "what up" kinda wave. Though towing the XJ i get waves thumbs up and all sorts of things from every thing from big rigs to civics.
I wave at all modded jeeps and any thing lifted.

The thumbs-up deal is a Mopar muscle car thing, that dates back to at least the late 1970's. I had several "A" bodies, & a "B" body too. At least all over the mid Atlantic area.
