I had a red 89 pioneer 5 speed pushin 260,000 miles. it was my first vehicle
that jeep had more character than any car I've ever had. it came to an end when I crashed it into the back of a prius
whos got pictures of their pioneer? I feel like I never see them anymore. I'll post a picture of mine when I can find it

 

Heres my 90 with 265000 miles, I've been with her 70000 of those miles

didnt read through the whole thing are you adding any more aftermarket?

Thanks man! Idk if I find the right bumpers, I thought about maybe building some. I am planing on going 4 inch longarm ift with 31s or 33s depending on if I decide I want to trim haha. But as of now I'm not doing much wheeling and I'm trying to fight these midwest winters from eating her away, shes solid all execpt one little hole under the backseat. I am building a roof light bar as well. Haha my list keeps changing

 

I like the maroon interior but also hate it, cause I never see it in any xjs at the yard, so if I want a matching interior piece I'm kinda sol

 

I posted the craigslist ad on the red interior laredo on chat here and asked if I should buy it. one guy made me an offer on the panels and I hadnt even bought it yet!
thats gotta be tough though. I'm hoping my next xj has the tan and black trim interior
I'll be watching your build if you ever end up pulling the trigger on fabbing those bumpers. I love seeing different designs

 

Haha thats funny about the guy wanting the panels. I actually had someone steal my door panel, I had it sitting in my backseat cause I was fixing my door latch, went to town, came back out and found it gone, haha thats what I get I guess for leaving the windows down. Took me a year in a half to find another one. What years xjs are you looking for? Sorry about your 91, I read your story on a thread a while back.

thats ridiculous ha. karma comes around. I want a 91-95 base or sport 4.0 high output with ax15 and 4 doors. my budget is 1500. not an easy find
no worries. that poor xj was a 2wd. in retrospect, it had to go. I would still be DD that thing and I never wouldve joined this forum or realized I want to build one.

 

Thanks. It was a one owner Jeep with 67k when I picked it up. I came across this Pioneer in the JY with a black interior a couple of months ago. Wish I would of pulled it when I had the chance.

 

I love the old black interior! I came across one once too, and thought of the same thing but time and money, not to mention the one I found had been trashed, its the only color I would consider swapping out for my maroon.

 

haha yeah it sucked but ah well. And thats good you have a positive attitude about it, could've been worse at least you're ok. What about the old renixs? come across any of them? That sucks man, good luck on your hunt, I'm looking forward to seeing your future build page

 

all 5 of us got outta that thing in like 2.2 seconds when I saw flames haha. yeah Ive got big plans for a complete resto and build. lots of free time and I dont pay rent so my check is gonna get dumped into my xj. just need to find one...
havent seen any renix's. Ive only been a fan of the pioneers and laredos anyway. but I wouldnt build one I feel like theyre too collectible to some people. Id rather trash a stocked out base model.
