May be cheaper just to buy one of these, not as much fun as building it though. Independent suspension, portal axles these things are the *****.

i almost bought one of these while working in canada . 20k i was roughy 4k shortr then import fees.

the volvo stuff would work nice, but i'm in the U.S and we dont have those bad *** volvos here to take the parts out of.

i'd like to find some thing here. like a d 7 a 1/2 t-case and rung multiple drive lines. i plan to lift to 8 inches. that may allow for the other drive line.

i need to find out what the maximum pinion angle i can have on high pinion axles. if it will work that way its in my budget, rock-wells are not. no way the woman will let me spend that kind of money with out having to save for a year first ugh i hate it .

so lets search out some deuce t-cases or ones configured for dual rear out puts. the deuce unit a be a bit heavier than i'd like tho.

i want to run 35's since thats what i have now. i am going to measure the jeep tomorrow.

i will need to stretch quite a bit. more than the 10 inches i was planing on.

i also need to get an idea of how much more space will i need to turn around. on a normal gravel road if i need too. all tho i have no fears of driving in reverse. but i dont want to have to do this every time :
no offense rossie

i think u could use front axles for all three axles and do it. use a driver side pumpkin up front and in the back get full width driver and passenger pumpkins and cut them down and turn them into rear axles with 2 different drive shafts. like this

i have one front axle and one rear. that was realy why i thought about doing this. i form what i tamek form my jeep i need to stretch 2ft , i need to see if Washington state law will let me do that. if it has to be a trailer queen because of that. then i want to build my own 6x6 buggy. steel frame with aluminum body panels. Heat , wipers, lights, and a good spot to sleep. i'm not throwing in the towel on the jeep yet.

i so measured my jeep from the back of my door to my tail light. its 62 inches. i need to stretch to "82" inches. my 35's are 34 inches OD ='s 68. i'd like 4 inches between them brings me to 72 inches from front of forward center tire to rear of back axle tire.

now i would probably truss the axles. that would allow me to stagger one set of my rear leafs inboard of the other set. which would allow one axle to flex easier . so that should help the ride quality . also i can change the shock angles to be more suited to ride quality rather than stabilizing the body. which shouldn't really be a problem considering there's going to be another set of leafs and another set of shocks.

now the question is i need to figure how to mount my leaf springs. i figure leafs because there cheap and it keeps the sus geometry simple.

i need to look up the lengths of the xj leaf springs and location of the center pin. to help figure out how & ware to put the springs.

any one have some thoughts?

Not sure about the gearing but could you put a divorced 205 behind your existing t case backwards? If it is strictly off road you could make a dual out put drive with some rugged flange bearings, double row roller chain and some sprockets and shafts (it stands up inside a skid steer loader with serious abuse).

thats some thing i saw on another forum. if i wanted to go that route couldn't i just turn a 231 around backward and run it that way and leave it in the high gear, just switch it from 2-4wd in the high range to engage my rear axle?

and question if my axles are all the same gear. and i run only my 1st t-case in low that should keep all the axle in the same gear. high in the t-case is 1-1 . if i switch the main case to low, then i would turn all my axle in my low range with the divorced trans always in high gear.
