i dont know if this has already been done or if this is the place to do it but here it goes. when was your first death wobble experience and how did you react? rate it from 1-10. 1 being huh thats inconvenient, playing it cool. 10 being you screamed like a little girl and actually had "business" in the pants. mine was a 7 headed down pole hill in estes( about a 12% grade) goin 55mph hit the brakes and started yelling, slammed on the brakes and hit my head on the stearing wheel. it wasnt funny then but now its awesome.

my first time was a few weeks ago after i lifted it going about 60 in a corner out in the country. I'd rate it about a 2 though. My reaction was "ohh hey, i didn't know the lift came with vibrating seats"

Mine was about an 8. was driving my dad's lifted WJ. hit a pothole at 45 and literally shook so hard the rear view mirror fell off. I couldn't hold the steering wheel straight. So slammed on the breaks, and pulled off into a empty parking lot conviently placed right next to where the pot hole was. got out look at everything, messed with everything for like 10 min couldnt find a problem...pissed me off. came home told the dad, he was like ya it has a little bit of DW. haha

My first death wobble experience was about 5 months after I put on my 4.5 inch lit. I was going about 65 mph, hit a bump, didn't really freak out just kinda went "oh " Pulled over, and started my way home asap. Easy fix at that point when I got home. I rate the DW at like 7.

I'm sure the people behind me were wondering stuff. lol

Second day I had my ZJ after going over some rough rail road tracks, it was about a 7, but enough to have me crap purple twinkies. I replaced the upper and lower control arms and removed the 2"spacer lift. It's DW free now.

First experience happened about 2 weeks ago. Was not in my jeep, was in a friends who belongs to CF. He's got a 6 inch with 33's . We were heading down a road to go wheeling he was driving in front of me. He hit a few bumps and his wheels started going nuts. I was like "**** what broke". He pulled over was pretty nervous. We checked everything and found no problems. So we just kept going with no more problems. For me Id rate it a 2 or 3 because it was not my vehicle. for him, on his face looked about a 6

Mine was about a 1. My thought was "huh, this must be the death wobble everyone speaks of."

I've read so much about it, so I knew right away what was going on.

I crossed some train tracks, going maybe 45-50. It felt like what a bike feels like when tank-slapping the bars.

Mine was literally last night on the way to my baseball game. Was sitting in ****ty traffic on 294 in Chicago, then it started to open up. I'm doing about 70 when everything went to hell. Felt like someone loosened all my lug nuts, and I about **** my pants. 9 For sure. I've only had my 98 XJ for a week, so now it's off to the tech section to find a fix. I do understand the cause, but I need a good place to start.

P.S. For some reason, reading everyone's DW stories had me LOL'ing for like 10 full mins!

Mine was about a 6
Just finished lifting my first Comanche took her out for a spin and **** hit the fan. Doing a brisk 25mph I caressed a pot hole and all hell broke loose. I had no idea what it was and it scared the crap out of me. After pulling over for a while I went about my business only to DW all the way back home. turns out I was toed out 3".

thought I'd add this one as well
One of my friends was complaining about this "horrible horrible death wobble" he had. It was the worst thing in the known world on our scale here it would be a 57 according to him. After a test drive and a look around...he lost a wheel weight causing a shimmy from 41-43mph and no other spots...He ended up over reacting so much he put on 2 stabs an sye and took his lift out. Not even kidding.
