When you think of Jeep Cherokees....
When you think of Jeep Cherokees what are the first 1-3 words that come to mind.
For me it's usually along the lines of "Rugged yet Durable Truck"
It's always close to that. I know it's technically an SUV but everybody knows it's a truck.
At least where I'm from people very often refer to them as trucks.

I haul stuff in mine just like a truck. The only thing I can't really haul is big tall things like refrigerators but most anything else I've done pretty good with.

Simple, effective platform.
Time tested, nearly indestructible engine.
Impressive performance for its time, bone stock.
MASSIVE aftermarket.
Cheap to buy, cheap to build.
Most mods can be done in the driveway w/ basic tools.
Like the XJ, 100K miles just means its broken in.
Cheap, garbage interiors, lol.
Questionable, marginal at best electrical system.
Of course, I'm a little biased owning both a 92 XJ and an 89 5.0 LX...
Word that comes to mind when I think of the XJ?
Ice chest
When out in the car, the kiddos & I look for a restaurant to eat at. When we're in the Jeep, we pack the cooler and go exploring till we find somewhere awesome to eat at.

Easy. "Junker Jeep". I had an 85 Cherokee which was nothing but trouble time after time. Engine eventually blew up on me. I had 2 CJ's. 86 and 84. By the time I got the 84 I knew enough to pull off all the emission control stuff and based on my experience with the 86 I knew exactly what to expect with the 84. One thing for sure, they are predictable. I must be a glutton for punishment because now we have a 2000 WJ and my PCM problems have been well chronicled here.
