When you think of Jeep Cherokees....
Those are the first 3 words that come to mind when I think of or when someone mentions "Cherokee". Just when you think you get the upper hand.......
Actually, for me anyway,it's any vehicle I own. Messing with the wife's Blazer now.

For me it's usually along the lines of "Rugged yet Durable Truck"
It's always close to that. I know it's technically an SUV but everybody knows it's a truck.
At least where I'm from people very often refer to them as trucks.

I don't know about all of them but my emissions sticker says:
Chrysler Important Vehicle Information-
"This Vehicle conforms to U.S. EPA Regulations applicable to 1997 Model Year New Light Duty Trucks at all Altitudes"
It is brilliant and I thank them for rating it this way. The Emission Requirements for the same year Passenger Cars including Station Wagons were quite a bit stiffer!
Someone used their noodle and probably paid some under the table money to get approval in this EPA class! Was it the removable rear seat that made the difference I wonder?
I'm OK with calling it a truck

Look at your license plate is it a car one or a truck one?A xj 4x4 all options weights 3,386lbs going by the epa a light duty truck Class 1 truck gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) ranges from 0–6000 lbs a awd car or car based suv could be called a truck.
But the xj is classed as a compact suv not a truck.
