it happens. but we mean when flexing, hanging a tire at opposite corners, starting from a complete stop.

I know lol was kinda joking around. no offense to holycaveman but i would never recomend drilling holes in the leafsprings that compromises the strength of the leafs. I can say ive seen these leafs snap and bend after people making custom packs wrong. drilling and removing metel will only make them more prone.
yes they will flex more for a bit but just like bending sheet metal or paper repeatedly eventually a failure will occur at that spot.

I dont like seeing people compromising parts and safety have had freinds get hurt doing so.

Unfortunately off roading is much more dangerous than staying at home.

We do all these things at our own risk..

I watch people wheel hard and roll without helmets. I think that is very unsafe, but its their choice not mine.

And I assume responsibility for my own modifications thank you.

So, where'd you drill these holes at exactly?

I assume responsibility for my own modifications and my driving style also. I just wanted to state what i did so someone new to this forum doesnt go doing something with out realize that bad things may occur.

no one ever figures out what works with out trying it.

I spaced the leafs very tight in the front. In other words one right after the other. In the rear I have them very staggered with a huge distance between the main spring and the next one.

It does help eliminate axle wrap while letting the rear of the spring twist and flex. Also the droop is entirely on the main spring only. I don't use any guides. Just the ubolt and brackets....... Not entirely finished yet. Burnt up drill bits. But so far it's working well.

So you sacrificed safety and reliability for a teensie bit of extra articulation, cool.

So you basically slid all the leafs towards the front and redrilled the center pin hole? Do you have pictures of this?

Putting monster tires on your truck and jacking it up is unsafe. Go troll elsewhere

No pictures. And the main spring is fine of course as it is. I cheated and used broken springs on the bottom. So just the center two I offset to accomplish what I wanted. And I oversized all the holes and used a larger centering pin.

I may cut the back of the second spring off though. Its just a little stiffer riding than I wanted. But it still flexes easy enough.

You guys are cracking me up. I can see your jaws dropping from here

no picture, so what, hop into paint or something and draw it out. what leafs are you using? how many in a pack? what's with your aversion to sharing with others what you're doing? i always thought that was the main point of a forum, to share ideas and help each other out. if you're so overprotective of your junk, why even mention it to begin with.

A. I was asked. B. Its experimental. I wouldn't advise anyone doing it. I love to do this crap. I like taking nothing special and making something out of it. Rather than just buying something.

that's great, i do the same thing in my builds. however, i have no qualms with talking to others about what i'm doing. i just don't understand your hesitation to share what you're doing.
