Default whats a good tire

im looking to go back to a almost stock tire. i have just under 3" og lift on my jeep now with 31 bfg at's. there about gone and i drive about 200 + a day ( i do road side sevice). and the bigger tiers do nothing for me at this time but make me spend more money on wear, and gas. i was thinking about 245/75/15. any feed back would be help full

they make a 30x10.50x15 .... 30x8.50x15 ....30x9.50 .... 31x9.50 in most tires all terrain BFG get pretty skinny witch will help with fuel economy ... your stock tires are 29x8.50x15 or 235x75x15

OE stock tires are 225/75/15 (not 235) or mathematically 28.29" tall (diameter). 245/75/15 are 29.47" tall. A 235/70/15 is almost identical to stock diameter.

225 X .75 X 2 / 25.4 = 28.29" tall
225 / 25.4 = 8.86" wide

Now, if u want to get crazy wide and keep the stock diameter.......275/60/15.

sorry for the hijack, just a newb here.
if my 01 xj has 225/75/15s on it now, what difference will 235/75/15s make? like will i have to trim anything or something like that. or will they just bolt right on?

Thanks!

You will not have to trim a thing if you go from the 225/75-15 to the 235/75-15.

When I bought my 2001 SilverStone Metallic in 2006, with 48,??? original miles, I swear it had the stock tires it came with from factory, and those were GoodYear Wrangler P235/75R15. Maby they were the second set of tires my Jeep had seen at the time, but with the wear they had, I believe they were original.

I think stock rims are 7in (correct me if I'm wrong) so a 9.5 inch would work perfectly, not sure if there would be backspacing issues but u could just get a space

For Eric the op, I think the 30 inch inch tires that I talked about before would work great to still have an aggressive tire that's not to big and is real cheap
