Depends on what you're looking for.

What tire size you running / going to run, terrain, DD/ mainly a trail vehicle. . .

Also, IMHO nothing beats a locker (except a locker with proper gearing).

There is a member on here (CF) that I have wheeled with and iirc he has a locked front with the 3.55 (?) w/ 31s and does the same kind of trails you're doing. The time he came out w/ us it did really well. I was pretty impressed with how well it did with a locker only in the front.

His SN is HairyPotter. He may be able to give ya some answers.

If your still runnin the 245 78x16 you will find much more pep in the 4:11 gear, don't often see jeeps get upgraded to smaller tires, hence 4:11 will be there for you on your next step up. I believe you said Aussie locker in the front, that is dependable. You could add another to the rear, I use powertrax and run a lot of road miles too, and they are friendly on road and animal off road. I do have the disco front end with cable actuator which helps in tight turning on or off road. I have the 3:55 and with 31's I would often like the 4:11 and be able to have a lighter foot, heavy foot will lead me to break one day, lucky so far, but I really believe it has been some luck.
I say go the 4:11 and add a lunchbox to the rear one day. (an OX would be even sweeter, depends on budget).

That's cool. You will have an animal to tame. Your gonna like it. You will find a want for some gear if you get into heavy mud (lots of clay) or steep climbs especially in tight quarters wooded areas if your tire size increases. Nice find, enjoy.
