I have a Leatherman in the Jeep as well as my Cutco pocket knife with the DD edge. The DD edge is basically the same as a seraded edge but it is a little different. That Cutco cuts through basically anything. I even use it to gut deer out and saw through the rib cage and pelvic bone.

This beauty. It's a machete, but screw it, It's a big knife!

Not a carbon steel, so it'll never ever rust. Period.

Easy to sharpen, yet still holds an edge for a good while.
Spyderco makes a good knife, but they don't seem to hold up over time. It should be noted i carry a knife every single day of my life, and I'm rough on them. My Boker has yet to bend, chip, come loose, or even dull. Though for cutting it has actually seen minimal use. It spends 90% of it's time getting me "in" places hehe. The key to the city i call her.

Haven't you tried their warranty?

Very good customer service.

Besides, its a knife, not a pry bar. If you use the correct tool for the job, typically you don't have issues.

I've used a baton style chop with a few Spiderco knives and they've all been 100% reliable for me.

It does come down to the material used, though. Your boker may be super sturdy, but it'll need to be sharpened eventually. And with super hard material, its very difficult to put an edge back on.

H1 steel is really well balanced, easy to sharpen, and holds its edge fairly well. Its got a pretty high rating on the rockwell hardness scale, too.

I have always been keen on SOG and Benchmade knives. They are good solid knives.

One of them was replaced under warranty, the other two went under "abuse". Though i have never tried to pry with anything other then the Boker. It has been with me for about 5 years now, if i ever loose it i may cry.

I'm very finicky with my gear. If it's a knife, sunglasses, clothing, cuffs, watches, or guns I'm very loyal. For example the only sunglasses i will wear is Oakley, also like their clothing. I wear an Oakley Protect hoodie all year round, and almost always 511 clothing. Boots and shoes are all Oakley or Original SWAT. Cuffs are all peerless hinged. Watches I'm all over, but i primarily wear my Divex

I'm typically a walking billboard for 5.11 gear. Their knives suck, though.

And that comes from someone who sells the hell outta 5.11 gear.

We carry Benchmade as well as Spyderco.

I keep a Vietnam style jungle machete in the Jeep. You can use a machete for a lot more stuff than just shaving.

I have a Leatherman Surge and a Schrade Old Timer (w/ locking saw balde) in my center console, smaller yellow Schrade Old timer in my cup holder, had a cheap fixed 8" winchester w/ guthook in glovebox (for hunting), and a hatchet in my tool box in the back.

Its "had" because I decided if I get pulled over and am reaching for my papers I dont want to be reaching in an area where there is also a large visible knife.

I've got things you'll be interested in.

Hell, I'll PM you. I don't wanna take this thread off topic.

The Glock Entrenching Tool is a slick little carry along. Cheap enough too.
